Sam McAlpine

Sam McAlpine is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Allium Engineering, Inc., where they focus on developing innovative metallic composite materials to enhance performance and longevity across various sectors, including infrastructure and energy. Prior to Allium, Sam earned a PhD in Nuclear Science and Engineering from MIT, specializing in designing novel materials for advanced nuclear energy applications. Their experience includes roles as a Graduate Student Researcher at MIT, a Research Assistant at Berkeley Lab, and an intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where they contributed to national security engineering projects. Sam is also dedicated to STEM education, leveraging their teaching experiences at MIT to mentor the next generation of scientists and engineers.
