Yining Yining is an Alloy Design Engineer at Alloyed, focusing on the application of physical-based models and data science to optimize alloy compositions for various sectors including additive manufacturing, aerospace, automobile, and electronics, since January 2021. Previously, Yining served as a PhD candidate in materials science and engineering at Carnegie Mellon University from September 2016 to January 2021. During an internship at Kennametal in 2019, Yining designed post heat treatment routes for additive-manufactured tool steel drills, utilizing microstructure characterization techniques and computational simulations. At ArcelorMittal USA in 2016, Yining engaged in the microstructure characterization of new advanced high-strength steel for automotive applications. Yining holds a PhD and a Master’s Degree in Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering from Shandong University.
