Ashley Ruess has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Starting in 2008, Ashley worked as a Production Assistant at the Department of National Defence, Army News, where they were involved in various production tasks and later promoted to a Control Room Operator. In 2009, they interned as a Production Assistant at Generator Productions, assisting with research, on-site production, and film shoot management.

Ashley then joined Avion Films as an Executive Assistant/Front Desk Manager, where they edited directors' proposals, oversaw promotional e-blasts, and created demo reels. From 2011 to 2012, they worked at Content Corporation as an Executive Assistant/Office Manager, managing financial records and coordinating offsite film shoot contracts.

In 2013, Ashley joined Avid Life Media as a Public Relations Coordinator, handling international PR agencies, managing social media accounts, and developing communications materials. Ashley then worked at shared as a Social Growth Hacker and later as a Video Production Coordinator, overseeing video production efforts, working on content strategy, and acting as a spokesperson at events.

Ashley's next role was at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, where they initially served as a Communications and Marketing Manager, developing and executing marketing strategies, managing calendars, and coordinating with partners. Ashley was later promoted to Senior Officer, Marketing Communications, responsible for membership recruitment and retention strategies.

From 2020 to 2022, Ashley worked at Corel Corporation as a Public Relations Manager, and most recently, they joined Alludo as a Public Relations Manager and is currently serving as the Corporate Communications Manager.

Throughout their career, Ashley has demonstrated skills in communication, marketing, PR, content creation, project management, and organizational coordination.

Ashley Ruess has a diverse education history. In 2001 to 2005, they attended Chippewa Secondary School for their secondary education. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Film and Media Studies at Queen's University from 2005 to 2009. After completing their undergraduate degree, they obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Corporate Communications from Seneca College in 2012 to 2013. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Film and Media Studies from Queen's University. Ashley Ruess has also obtained a certification as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver from PADI, although the specific timeframe for this certification is unknown.
