Founded in 2006, Alma d'Arame operates in the Alentejo region, particularly in the municipality of Montemor-o-Novo, where we are active participants in the cultural and artistic scene.

We fervently believe in the essence that underpins this project: "dar alma às almas d'arame" (giving soul to wire souls). Thus, we aim to contribute to the dissemination and democratisation of access to the performing arts, with particular emphasis on puppet theatre.

We strive to value the heritage of traditional puppetry and promote contemporary puppetry. We are bold in our approaches and creations. Our shows seek to bring to audiences of all ages the different forms and approaches of puppet and object manipulation theatre, from traditional techniques to more modern and technological ones. This has been the guiding principle behind our journey since the beginning.

Alma d'Arame's journey is marked by creation, programming, training and creative collaboration with local, national and international entities.
