Robert Makowsky

Global Head Of Biostatistics at Almac Group

Robert Makowsky has a strong background in biostatistics and genetic data analysis. Robert has held various roles in both academic and industry settings. Robert has worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Global Head of Biostatistics at Almac Group, where they were responsible for planning and executing statistical analyses, as well as meeting with regulatory bodies. Robert also worked as a Biostatistics Manager at HTG Molecular Diagnostics, where they focused on predictive modeling and accuracy quantification using genetic data. Before that, they worked as a Biostatistician at Gore, where they provided oversight in the design, analysis, and management of clinical study data. Robert gained experience in genomic data analysis during their time at the FDA, where they participated in research projects and policy development. Robert began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Robert Makowsky has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Quantitative biology from The University of Texas at Arlington, which they obtained from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (M.S.) in Biology from Marshall University from 2002 to 2004. Robert Makowsky began their academic journey with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, specializing in neurobehavioral biology, from Emory University, which they completed from 1997 to 2001.
