Bruce Bjorklund has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Bruce is currently employed as a Sourcing Engineer at ALMACO since July 2021. Prior to this, Bruce worked at Proliant Biologicals as a Plant Manager from November 2017 to January 2021. Bruce also served as a Plant Superintendent at Proliant Health and Biologicals from March 2012 to November 2017. Bruce has marketing and sales experience as the Marketing/Sales Director at Astrum LLC from January 2010 to April 2011. Bruce held the position of VP/Director Defense Programs at Etrema Products, Inc. from July 2005 to April 2011. Additionally, Bruce has worked as a Senior Principal Engineer at Computer Sciences Corporation from 2003 to 2005. Prior to their career in the private sector, they served in various roles in the naval sector, including Tactical Warfare Officer at Commander, Submarine Force Pacific from May 2001 to September 2003, Officer-in-Charge at Naval Special Warfare Command from October 1996 to May 2001, and Force Material Officer at Commander Submarine Force, US Pacific from July 1993 to October 1996. Bruce also served as the Chief Engineer aboard USS Tecumseh (SSBN-628) from 1988 to 1990.
Bruce Bjorklund has a diverse education history that spans several institutions and fields of study. Bruce began their academic journey at Tri-County High School, where they earned their HS Diploma in College Prep in 1979. Bruce then enrolled at Iowa State University, where they pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering, earning their Bachelor of Science (BS) in 1983.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Bruce received further training in Naval Nuclear Propulsion plants at Navy Nuclear Power School from 1983 to 1984. Bruce obtained the qualification of Nuclear Plant Supervisor through theoretical and practical training during this period. Following this, Bruce attended the Submarine Officer Basic Course in 1984, where they studied Submarine Systems and Operations.
In 1986, Bruce attended the Prospective Nuclear Engineer Officer program, where they gained expertise in the advanced supervision of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants, earning the certification of a Certified Nuclear Engineer Officer. Bruce then proceeded to the Naval Postgraduate School, where they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Operations Analysis, specializing in the field of Operations Analysis. Bruce completed their master's degree program from 1988 to 1990.
Bruce's educational journey continued with the Submarine Officer Advanced Course in 1990. This course focused on Advanced Submarine Operations and Warfare and provided him with the Department Head Certification.
Aside from their formal education, Bruce Bjorklund also obtained a certification in OSHA 500 from the OSHA Safety Training Institute in March 2021.
