Colin Soutar

Colin Soutar is a seasoned compliance engineer and product safety expert with nearly 30 years of experience in the field. Currently serving as Principal Compliance Engineer II at Alpha Technologies since August 2021, Colin also provides consulting services as Principal Consultant at 10172367 Canada Ltd. since April 2017, specializing in product safety expertise and comprehensive engineering services for global regulatory requirements. Previous positions include Senior Product Safety Specialist at Motorola Solutions and Electrical/Safety Engineer at Canon Production Printing, among others. Colin possesses extensive knowledge of European Union standards related to Machinery, EMC, Low Voltage, and Radio Equipment Directives, and has experience generating and maintaining CE declarations and worldwide product safety certifications for diverse products. Colin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from DeVry University and a Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology.
