Adrian Wan

Adrian Wan has a significant amount of work experience in the field of research and laboratory operations. Adrian worked as an Operations Consultant at Alpha-9 Theranostics Inc. from May 2021. In this role, they were responsible for lab buildout, lab operations, procurement, supply chain management, logistics, operations, and lab safety.

Prior to that, Adrian worked at BC Cancer for over 17 years. Adrian held various positions within the organization, including Departmental Manager, Laboratory Research and Operations Manager, and Senior Research Technician. As a Departmental Manager, they ensured a safe work environment for over 160 staff members and oversaw departmental research operations. Adrian was also involved in establishing safety procedural protocols for the research institution.

In their role as a Laboratory Research and Operations Manager, Adrian was in charge of the day-to-day operations of the lab, as well as providing technical consulting and project management. Adrian supervised a team of technical staff and co-op students and implemented measures to increase lab productivity. Adrian also handled business functions such as human resources and finance.

Before becoming a manager, Adrian worked as a Senior Research Technician at BC Cancer. Adrian provided technical expertise and support in various areas of research, including molecular biology, tissue culture, high throughput screening, and microbiology. Adrian also managed the usage and maintenance of targeting libraries worth over a quarter of a million dollars.

Adrian's career in research began as a Research Student/Technician, where they provided technical support and assistance to students and post-doctoral fellows in molecular biology projects. Adrian also performed basic laboratory duties such as equipment maintenance and purchase of lab supplies.

Adrian's earlier experience includes working as a Part-time Research Assistant and Co-op/Research Assistant at Simon Fraser University.

Throughout their career, Adrian has demonstrated strong leadership, project management, and technical skills in the field of research and lab operations.

Adrian Wan completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in the field of Management of Technology from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, starting in 2017 and graduating in 2019. Prior to that, Adrian earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Simon Fraser University, specializing in the Department of Molecular Biology & Biochemistry. Adrian studied for this degree from 1999 to 2004.
