Robert Powell has a wealth of experience in the energy industry. Robert began their career in 2006 as a Senior Data Manager/Statistician - Electricity & Heat and a Data Manager/Statistician - Monthly Oil & Gas for the International Energy Agency. In 2010, they moved to the Ministerio de Energía Chile as an Energy Data Analyst. After a career break in Asia in 2012, they began working as an Energy Statistics Expert for Independent/AAM Management Information Consulting/MONSTAT in 2013. That same year, they also started working as an Energy Data Consultant for Independent. In 2014, they became an Energy Efficiency Indicators Statistics Project Manager for the International Energy Agency. In 2015, they were a Digital Content Manager for the Ramsar Convention Secretariat, and in 2020 they became a Co-Founder for Alpha BBL.
Robert Powell has an education history spanning from 2000 to 2004, beginning with a MEng in Mathematical Engineering from the University of Leeds. In 2002, they completed an exchange year at McGill University, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, Robert Powell has obtained three certifications: a Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in 2019, an Energy Subsidy Reform certification from the International Monetary Fund in 2016, and an R Programming certification from Coursera Verified Certificates in 2014.
