Long Yu

Long Yu is a Senior Design Engineer at Alphacore Inc. since November 2016, specializing in the design of low-power, low-profile radiation-hardened power management systems for space and extreme environments, particularly focusing on POL buck converters. Prior to this role, Long Yu was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee from May 2011 to October 2016, earning a PhD in August 2016 and developing high-frequency resonant gate drivers and GaN-based DC-DC converters. Earlier research included evaluating high-temperature SiC gate driver topologies and acting as a teaching assistant. Long Yu holds a PhD in Analog, Digital, Power, and Mixed Signal IC Design from the University of Tennessee, a Master's Degree in Wireless Communications from the University of Florida, and another Master's Degree in Millimeter-wave Technologies from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
