AlpinaSana, co-founded by researchers from HSG and ETH, addresses an often overlooked healthcare challenge: malnutrition. 20-60% of hospitalized patients and over 50% of elderly individuals in retirement homes suffer from malnutrition, primarily due to insufficient food tracking and the low acceptance of current foods for special medical purposes (FSMP). Introducing a fully autonomous, AI-based food tracker and patient-centric FSMP, AlpinaSana aims to effectively detect and treat malnutrition, thereby reducing its social and economic impacts. Our mission is to restore one of life’s greatest pleasures: the enjoyment of food.
