John Cooper is currently the Head of ETCS Design Trackside at Alstom, leading the design delivery team. They hold the IRSE Signalling Engineering Manager Design 7.8.110E license and have previously held the IRSE Principles Designer and Signalling Design Verifier licenses. John has extensive experience in signaling systems, focusing on ETCS trackside and computer-based interlockings, and has worked in various roles, including Contractor’s Responsible Engineer and Contractor’s Engineering Manager. They hold a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Staffordshire University and have a background in safety-critical signaling equipment design and support.
