Manager, HIV Prevention at AltaMed

Darriane M. has a diverse work experience primarily focused on public health and community outreach. Darriane started their career as the Director of HIV Prevention at AIDS Arms Inc., where they oversaw a program with a $500,000 budget and supervised a team of 10-15 individuals. Darriane then moved on to the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Minority Health Manager, where they provided technical assistance and coordinated community mobilization efforts to address HIV/STD disparities in vulnerable populations. After that, they worked at the National Domestic Violence Hotline as a Manager of Hotline Services, overseeing scheduling, supervision, and coaching of hotline advocates, as well as analyzing statistical reports and providing training on domestic and intimate partner violence. Darriane then joined the Black AIDS Institute as the Mobilization Manager and BTAN National Director, responsible for mobilizing communities and directing national programs. Currently, they are working as the Manager of HIV Prevention at AltaMed Health Services.

Darriane M. pursued their education starting from 1998 to 2001, where they attended Texas A&M University-Commerce and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in English Language and Literature/Letters, with a focus on Sociology. Darriane continued their educational journey from 2001 to 2003 at the same institution, Texas A&M University-Commerce, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Sociology and Anthropology.
