Matthew Lomeli has an extensive work experience in the medical field. Matthew started their career in 2010 as a Family Medicine Resident at the US Navy. Matthew then served as a Flight Surgeon from February 2012 to May 2014 and continued their training as a Family Medicine Resident from June 2014 to June 2016.

In 2016, Matthew joined the US Navy's Fleet Surgical Team V with COMPHIBRON V and deployed with the U.S.S. for two years until July 2018.

After their service in the US Navy, Matthew joined AltaMed Health Services in October 2017 as a Staff Physician and later became the Site Medical Director in June 2018. In May 2020, they took on the role of Medical Director Telehealth & Patient Service Center at AltaMed Health Services.

Matthew Lomeli's education history begins with their attendance at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad from 1999 to 2000, where they focused on the field of study of Marine Biology & Ecology. Following this, they studied at Whittier College from 1997 to 2001, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology, General. Moving forward, Lomeli pursued further education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine from 2006 to 2010, completing their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Lastly, in 2011 to 2012, they attended the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute, specializing in Aerospace Physiology and Medicine as a Flight Surgeon.
