Dave O'connell

Dave O'connell is the Senior Manager of Software Development at AltaML. Dave has over 20 years of experience in the software development industry. Dave has been with AltaML for two years and has been instrumental in the development of the company's software products. Prior to joining AltaML, Dave was with the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission for seven years, where they served as Enterprise Architect. In this role, Dave was responsible for writing Architecture Capability Vision documents for corporate projects, assessing how corporate Enterprise Architecture practice relates short-term project vision to the vision of the enterprise, and developing base-line and target architectures describing how projects will transform the enterprise. Dave also spent three years as a software developer at Matrikon, where they were involved in the design and development cycle of a brand new product: MatrikonOPC SNMP Agent for OPC. Dave has also held research positions at the University of Prince Edward Island. Dave holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Prince Edward Island.

Dave O'connell has a Master of Science in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Prince Edward Island. Dave also has certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud in Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft in Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.

They are on a team with James Kinnaird - IT Administrator, Graham Erickson - Lead Machine Learning Developer, and Danielle Gifford - Senior Manager, AltaML Applied AI Lab.
