John MacMaster

John MacMaster is a seasoned scientist specializing in enology and has extensive experience in both the biopharmaceutical and wine industries. Currently serving as Scientist Study Director at Altasciences since October 2021, John previously worked at Chateau Ste. Michelle for eight years as a Laboratory Technician, where responsibilities included wine analysis and quality assurance. Earlier positions include Enologist at The Northwest Wine Academy, various roles at Chateau Ste. Michelle, and laboratory internships that provided foundational experience in wine production. Prior to transitioning to the wine sector, John gained significant experience in biotechnology, working as a Senior Associate Scientist at Amgen and as a Research Scientist at Bristol-Myers Squibb. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of California, Davis, and a certificate in Enology from South Seattle College.
