Nicolas Fourrier

Nicolas Fourrier has a diverse background in research and artificial intelligence. Nicolas is currently working at Futureverse as the Head of Research, a role they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they were a Lead AI Researcher at Altered State Machine (now Futureverse) from January 2022 to May 2023. Before joining Futureverse, Nicolas worked as an AI Lead at RUSH starting in June 2021. From September 2018 to June 2021, they served as the Director of AI at Insite AI. Nicolas has also held positions as a Data Scientist at Soul Machines, Timbre Marketing, and Gameloft. Their career began in 2013 at CGG, where they worked as a Geophysicist - Research Analyst, focusing on data and image processing for subsurface imaging projects, as well as research in inverse problems and machine learning. Prior to their industry roles, Nicolas worked as an Instructor and Graduate Student at the University of Virginia, conducting research in differential equations and teaching various mathematics courses. Nicolas also worked as a Research Engineer at Thales Aerospace, where they conducted research in bistatic radar and created a solution for flying mini-unmanned-autonomous vehicles.

From 2005 to 2010, they attended ESILV - Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénieurs Léonard de Vinci, where they received an Engineer's degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics.

In 2009, Nicolas Fourrier enrolled at the University of Virginia and pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mathematics until 2011.

Continuing their academic journey at the University of Virginia, they then obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics, completing their studies in 2013.
