Kanthi Subramanian

Kanthi Subramanian has over 8 years of work experience in the field of data engineering, software development, and AI. In 2022, they began working as an Open Source Developer and Developer Advocate at Altinity, Inc. In 2021, they worked as a Senior Data Engineer/Architect at Verstand AI, where they implemented ELT using Airflow, Dataflow, DataProc, and Cloud Run, as well as created new Kafka connectors and python consumers running on Kubernetes. In 2020, they worked as a Senior Data Architect/Lead at CIBC Capital Markets, where they led a team of Data Engineers for AML and implemented ETL processing from multiple data sources. Kanthi also worked as a Data Engineering Lead/Manager at GoSecure, where they implemented Event Driven Architecture ETL for a next-gen MDR solution and migrated state storage from ElasticSearch to AWS Aurora. In 2019, they served as Director of Data Engineering at Freckle, which was acquired by PlaceIQ. Kanthi led the Data Engineering team and supported and enhanced Attribution implementation with data sources from Location Data brokers. In 2018, they worked as a Software Development Manager at Fleet Complete, where they built and led the Connvex team and hired a team of 6 developers/QA Engineers. In 2016, they worked as a Senior Engineering Manager and Lead at Aviva Digital Garage, and as a Consultant at Capco, where they implemented Spring Boot based Microservices platform. In 2015, they worked as Co-Founder/CTO at ValidateIT Technologies Inc., where they built the Engineering team from scratch and developed a Market research Portal. In 2013, they worked as Director of R&D and Technical Architect at Wysdom.AI, where they led the Engineering team and developed AI applications.

Kanthi Subramanian has a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, obtained between 2001 and 2002. Kanthi also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from the University of Madras. In addition, they have obtained certifications from Coursera, Udemy, and Qwiklabs, including Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals (April 2021), CCA175 Spark Developer, Modernizing Data Lakes and Data Warehouses with GCP, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Scientific Data Processing - GCP AI Platform, BigQuery, Cloud DataProc, Tensorflow(Advanced).
