Electronic Integration Chemist at ALTRATECH LIMITED

Xi Cao has a diverse range of work experience. Most recently, they worked as an Electronic Integration Chemist at ALTRATECH LIMITED starting in February 2020. Prior to this role, Xi worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at University College Cork, where they were involved in a research project funded by PepsiCo. They developed a portable colorimetric device and an automatic method for target detection and data analysis. Xi also served as a Teaching Assistant and Examination Invigilator for a forensic science module. Additionally, they worked as a Lab Demonstrator, Workshop Demonstrator, and Exhibitor. They gained experience in solution preparation and equipment validation. Xi was also a Research Assistant at University College Cork, where they quantified target analytes in PepsiCo soft drinks using various analytical methods. Xi's previous experience includes working as a PhD Researcher on a European Commission funded project to develop a portable device for chemical warfare agents' analysis. They studied highly toxic nerve agents using benchtop instruments. Before that, Xi worked as a PhD Intern at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, where they contributed to the development of a method for breast cancer diagnosis. They used fluorescence in-situ hybridisation (FISH) to investigate a protein in breast cancer cells. Finally, Xi's earliest work experience was as an Administration Assistant at AcrossChina Communication, where they assisted with meeting room preparations and practiced communication and attention to detail skills.

Xi Cao completed a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Chemistry at Beijing Technology and Business University from 2009 to 2013. Subsequently, from 2012 to 2013, they pursued a Diploma in Food Science at University College Cork. Xi then earned a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry at the same institution from 2013 to 2014. Lastly, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry from University College Cork, where they studied from 2014 to 2018.
