Ian Tyndall

Ian Tyndall serves as Vice Chair and Board Member of the Richmond Technology Council since March 2020. At Altria, where tenure spans from March 1996 to the present, Ian holds the position of Managing Director of Digital Strategy and Innovation, previously serving as Senior Director and overseeing marketing technologies. Ian's career at Altria includes pivotal roles such as Director of Information Services and Chief Technical Architect, where strategic IT initiatives were developed post the $10.3 billion acquisition of US Smokeless Tobacco. Ian's professional journey began at Philip Morris USA, where a variety of Sales and IT roles were undertaken between 1996 and 2008, focusing on logistics and eCommerce ventures. Ian's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Management in Technology Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, among others.
