Altris Reconstructive Wellness is a specialty plastic surgery practice in New York City focused on secondary and revision breast reconstruction, complex primary reconstruction, and survivorship care.
Founded by Drs. Vishal Thanik and Katie Weichman, both previously at NYU Langone, Altris was built on a single premise: true reconstruction means restoring more than the breast. It means restoring the whole person.
Our focus is on patients in survivorship: those who are through their cancer care and primary reconstruction. These are patients who have survived but are not yet thriving: some need surgical revisions or refinements, others are carrying the lasting physical toll of post-cancer treatment, and many are dealing with both. We take time, we operate with care, and we integrate prehabilitation, postoperative rehabilitation, metabolic health, nutrition, and emotional support into the surgical plan.
Our goal is to understand what our patients are missing and help them recover it. Referrals from breast surgeons, oncologists, and gynecologic colleagues are welcomed.
