Jay Bates

Jay (John) Bates, Ph.D., currently serves as Senior Director of Clinical Research and Development at Alvogen since 2023. Previously, Jay held the position of Senior Director of Clinical Development at Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. from 2022 to 2023 and served as Director of Clinical Development at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 2015 to 2022. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Medical Science Liaison at Lundbeck in 2014-2015 and a decade at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where Jay worked as Director of Field Health Economics & Outcomes Research and as a Medical Science Liaison in Neurosciences. Jay holds a Ph.D. in Neuropsychology from The City University of New York, completed a research fellowship in Cognitive Electrophysiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Computer Science, from Fordham University.
