Jitender Makkar

Jitender Makkar is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the airline IT sector, currently serving as Vice President of Airline IT Sales & Business Development for EMEA Airlines at Amadeus since October 2000. In this role, Jitender leads strategic sales engagements aimed at modernizing airline retailing and establishing Amadeus as a trusted industry partner. Previous positions include Sales Director for North & West Europe, where Jitender exceeded sales targets, and Senior Manager, Airline IT Sales for the Russia and CIS Region, focusing on culturally diverse markets and high-level negotiations. Jitender also has extensive experience as Head of Global Sales and Account Management for Corporations IT at Amadeus, managing significant accounts and achieving impressive revenue growth. Early career experience includes working as an Associate Consultant at Barclays Investment Bank, contributing to capital raising and hedging projects. Jitender holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from C R State College of Engineering in India.
