Armando Lira

Armando Lira, MD has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Armando currently holds the position of Vice President Clinical R&D at Amarin Corporation since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Medical Director at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals from August 2020 to September 2021.

Dr. Lira has also held multiple roles at Amgen, starting as a Sr. Medical Scientist from September 2014 to August 2020, and later as a Clinical Research Medical Director from March 2017 to August 2020. Before that, they worked at Novartis as a Clinical Scientific Associate Director from May 2014 to August 2014, and as a Medical Specialist - Critical Care Franchise from July 2013 to April 2014.

Armando'sprevious experience includes positions at Merck, where they served as an Associate Director, Emerging Markets Clinical Development from August 2012 to July 2013, and as a Clinical Scientist & Operations Manager (Emerging Markets) from November 2011 to August 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Clincal Trial Manager at Merck from 2008 to 2010.

Dr. Lira began their career at Organon Pharmaceuticals, where they worked as a Clinical Research Scientist from 2007 to 2008, and as a Sr Clinical Research Associate from 2002 to 2006.

Armando Lira, MD pursued their medical education at the Universidad Central de Venezuela from 1991 to 1997, earning their MD degree in Medicine.
