Alan Jacobsen

Alan Jacobsen is a Director of Materials Science for Sustainable Packaging, actively involved in advancing sustainable practices at Amazon, where they also hold the position of Sr. Manager, Sustainability Science and Innovation. Previously, Jacobsen served as a Principal Scientist in Amazon's Sustainability division and held leadership roles at Light Orthotics, Architected Materials, and MalibuIQ. They have a strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University, a Master’s degree from Northwestern University, and are pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Southern California. Their diverse experience spans research, engineering, and management, emphasizing their commitment to sustainability and innovation in materials science.
