Amira Karim possesses extensive experience at the intersection of technology, finance, and public policy. Currently serving as the Head of Public Policy for Payments and Financial Services at Amazon since January 2022, Amira leads engagements with financial regulators and central banks to drive innovative financial technologies. Previously, as the Head of Public Policy for Asia Pacific at Stripe, Amira spearheaded regulatory engagement and government affairs across multiple countries to facilitate the company's expansion. Amira's background includes a role as a Private Sector Development Specialist at The World Bank Group, where significant contributions were made to the digital economy in Southeast Asia, and experience in economic diplomacy with Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Amira holds a Master's Degree in Development Economics and International Development from Johns Hopkins SAIS and completed the Singapore Fintech Talent Programme.
