Ankur Gupta

Ankur Gupta is a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon since September 2024, having previously served as Head of Artificial Intelligence at Protein Evolution where responsibilities included training and fine-tuning protein LLMs, deploying ML models, and establishing software engineering best practices. Ankur founded PerfectlyRandom, a machine learning and programming blog, in early 2023. Prior experience includes a Lead Data/Machine Learning Scientist role at Salesforce, contributing to the development of deep learning NLP models and cybersecurity capabilities, as well as significant positions at Premise Data and The Climate Corporation focusing on machine learning applications and geospatial modeling. Ankur holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and dual degrees (B.Tech and M.Tech) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
