Antonio Uva is an accomplished research scientist with extensive experience in natural language processing and machine learning. Uva began a career at IBM in 2014 as a summer intern, focusing on passage reranking and scoring using tree kernels for question answering tasks. From 2014 to 2020, Uva served as a researcher and senior research scientist at the University of Trento, contributing to the development of the QA UIMA pipeline under the supervision of Professor Alessandro Moschitti. Since March 2020, Uva has been with Amazon, responsible for building, releasing, and deploying iterations of the Alexa NLU model for Italian and Spanish. Uva holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Università degli Studi di Trento and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Università degli Studi di Bari.
