Ashwin Swaminathan is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in applied science and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as Director of Applied Science, Artificial General Intelligence at Amazon, Ashwin leads multimodal understanding initiatives for the Amazon Nova Lite, Pro, and Premier models. Prior roles at Amazon include launching the Titan multimodal embeddings model and Titan image generator, as well as managing projects in Fashion Innovation Tech that focus on customized apparel and augmented reality. Ashwin's previous experience includes a senior director role at Magic Leap, leading perception R&D with a focus on integrating software, hardware, and data systems. Additionally, Ashwin is a Senior Member of IEEE and holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering.
