Athanasios Nikolakopoulos

Dr. Athanasios (Thanos) Nikolakopoulos is a senior technical leader specializing in generative AI, large language models, and recommender systems. They served as a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon, where they currently train large language models for the World-Wide Amazon Catalog, following a role as an Applied Scientist II focused on building generative models. Previously, they held research positions at the University of Minnesota and the University of Patras, contributing significantly to computational genomics, machine learning, and graph learning. Thanos has received several accolades for their research output, including two Best Paper Awards. They hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Patras.
