Ben Yap

Ben Yap is a sustainability leader at Amazon, focusing on the integration of science with strategic business initiatives in the supply chain of Amazon Devices. They have a background in synthetic biology and industrial biotechnology, having previously served as a Senior Research Scientist at Amazon and Head of Downstream Processing at Bota Biosciences. Their extensive experience includes project management and the development of bio-based products, with notable contributions to decarbonizing logistics and setting up R&D facilities. Ben holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Melbourne, where they also contributed as a departmental tutor and lab demonstrator.
