Brian Townsend

Brian Townsend is the Head of Visual Design at Amazon, a position held since 2025. They previously led the Visual Design team for Windows and Devices at Microsoft from 2016 to 2025 and worked as a Digital Media Artist at Luxion Inc. from 2010 to 2012. Brian began their career in the US Army as a Combat Engineer from 2002 to 2006 and later studied Media Arts and Animation at The Art Institute of California from 2006 to 2010, where they also served as a peer mentor. Prior to their work at Amazon, Brian gained experience as a 3D and Motion Graphics Designer while freelancing in 2009 and as an Artist Intern at Bunkspeed in 2008.
