Calvin Chi is a senior applied scientist at Amazon, currently leading efforts to develop an external-facing conversational agent for a core product within a newly formed AI team. This team focuses on training foundational models and building large language model agents in advertising. Previously, Calvin contributed to Amazon Advertising's Demand Side Platform by launching deep learning conversion prediction and pre-ranking models, as well as designing a bandit algorithm for the bidding process. They earned a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and hold a summa cum laude Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University.
