Chen Hu

Chen Hu has a diverse background in applied science, software development, and civil engineering education. Recently serving as an Applied Scientist intern at Amazon Alexa, Chen contributed to the development of a model for entity salience prediction. Currently, as a Software Developer at ITASCA Software, Chen focuses on user interface development and AI integration for the FLAC3D/2D numerical simulation software. Prior experience includes roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and research assistant at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where Chen engaged in experiments on quasi-brittle materials and computational simulation. Chen holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
