Cong Zhang -

Cong (Shirley) Zhang is a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon, where they focus on developing risk-prevention models to address buyer transaction fraud, seller product quality issues, and account takeover risks. Previously, they held the position of Research Scientist in Amazon’s Transaction Risk Management Services (TRMS) and in the Perfect Order Experience (POE) division, where they utilized classification and time-series models for fraud detection and product counterfeit prevention. Cong earned their Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they conducted in-depth research on labor and housing market data, contributing to various academic papers. They also hold a Master’s Degree in Economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Wuhan University.
