Dan Crawford

Dan Crawford is an experienced applied scientist and machine learning expert with a robust background in research and algorithm development. Crawford has held positions at Amazon as both an Applied Scientist and a Senior Applied Scientist since January 2021, where responsibilities included designing and implementing machine learning algorithms and recommendation systems. Previous experience includes roles at The University of British Columbia as a Research Assistant, D-Wave Systems Inc. as a Laboratory Technician, and 1QBit as a Senior Machine Learning Lead, overseeing technical teams and creating industry-relevant machine learning solutions. Crawford's technical proficiency encompasses algorithm development using tools such as numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow, and Keras. Additional early career experience includes participation in various internships through the UBC Engineering Physics Co-op program, focusing on fuel cell system design, firmware development, and research into sustainable technologies.
