Dan Silverman

Dan Silverman is the Director of Economics, Seller Fees at Amazon, a position they currently hold. They were previously a Senior Principal Economist at Amazon from 2021 to 2023 and served as the Rondthaler Professor of Economics at Arizona State University from 2012 to 2023. Dan has also held academic roles as an Associate and Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan between 2009 and 2012. Additionally, they co-founded Capital Preferences, where they were active as Head of Research from 2016 to 2021, and have been a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research since 2010. Dan earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, along with a BA in Political Science and Government from Williams College.
