David Coats

David Coats is a self-motivated electrical engineer and researcher with extensive experience in embedded and cybersecure systems within e-mobility and distribution automation. They currently serve as a Senior Engineer at Amazon, focusing on last mile EV charging management products. Coats has held various positions in academia and industry, including Principal Scientist at ABB and a Teaching Assistant at the University of South Carolina. They earned a B.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina, where they also engaged in notable research projects including condition-based maintenance algorithms and smart charging management systems.
