Davide Modolo

Davide Modolo has extensive experience in applied science, particularly in artificial intelligence and computer vision. At Amazon from October 2018 to November 2023, Davide served as Senior Manager of Applied Science for Amazon AGI, leading projects related to image, video, and document understanding. Prior to this role, Davide was Manager of Applied Science and Tech Lead at AWS AI Labs, overseeing the development of numerous AWS Rekognition services. Academic contributions include a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Edinburgh, where research focused on localizing object classes, along with experience as a Teaching Assistant. Earlier professional experiences include software development at Proekspert AS, internship roles focused on event detection and visual object detection, and a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam.
