Gokhan Tur

Gokhan Tur is a distinguished professional in the field of artificial intelligence and conversational systems, currently serving as a Research Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since September 2023. Previously, Gokhan held the position of Senior Principal Scientist at Amazon Alexa AI from February 2020 to April 2023, following a role as Director of Conversational AI at Uber from February 2018 to February 2020. Prior experience includes serving as the Deep Conversational Language Understanding Area Technical Lead Manager at Google from July 2016 to February 2018. Gokhan obtained a BS, MS, and PhD in Computer Science from Bilkent University between January 1990 and January 2000, and completed a High School Diploma in Science at Ataturk Anatolian High School from January 1983 to January 1990.
