John Morgan is the VP & Associate General Counsel, International Stores at Amazon. John has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer, specializing in financial services and electronic commerce.
Morgan began their career at Perkins Coie LLP in 1996, where they became a partner in the Financial Services Group. John led the practice group specializing in non-bank financial services and payment systems, including stored value cards, money service business laws, anti-money laundering, unclaimed property, financial privacy, payments systems and processing, PCI Data Security Standard compliance, private label and co-branded credit card agreements. In 2006, Morgan left Perkins Coie to join Amazon as their Technology Business Practice lawyer.
At Amazon, Morgan is responsible for legal aspects of Amazon's international consumer businesses, including digital media, devices and e-commerce. John has also helped launch several new businesses for Amazon, including Amazon Prime Video and the Amazon Appstore.
John Morgan attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, International Affairs, and Aerospace Engineering (minor). John then attended the University of Colorado and obtained a JD in Law.
