Josef Koller

Josef Koller, Ph.D., is a seasoned expert in space safety and sustainability, currently serving as a Principal at Amazon, where they lead initiatives to develop global space safety policies. They have held roles including Systems Director at The Aerospace Corporation and Space Policy Advisor at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, demonstrating strong skills in technical analysis and policy strategy. With a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Rice University and extensive experience across academia and national laboratories, Josef has contributed to significant projects in commercial remote sensing, space traffic management, and space weather. Additionally, they founded the Space Weather Summer School at Los Alamos National Laboratory to cultivate future talent in space science.
