Kevin Ley, PhD, is an experienced aerospace engineer with a robust background in propulsion and space systems. At 8 Rivers Capital, Kevin applied first-principle engineering methods to develop non-rocket space launch technologies, while recent roles at BLUE ORIGIN involved extensive testing and engineering of rocket components and cryogenic systems. Previous experience includes leading a NASA-funded project on Mars ice extraction systems, engineering space vehicles for the National Reconnaissance Office, and developing propulsion systems at North Carolina State University. Currently, Kevin is engaged in testing Hall-Effect thrusters for Amazon Project Kuiper. Kevin holds advanced degrees from North Carolina State University, achieving a 3.636 GPA across the doctoral program.
