Following this role, Maher served as Senior Development Manager at IBM until December 2000, then transitioned to Director of R&D at AspenTech until July 2007. Currently, Maher holds the position of Director of Software Development at Amazon since August 2007. Maher earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Business Analysis from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Indiana University Bloomington from 1981 to 1985.
