Laurel Pereira is currently a Sr. Systems Development Engineer at Amazon, where they work on the Tech Deployment Transformation Team focusing on electrical capacity optimization and 3D reality capture. Laurel began their career at Amazon Robotics as a Hardware Development Engineering Intern in 2019 and has held their current position since January 2021. They earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with an additional major in Biomedical Engineering in May 2020 and completed an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in December 2020, both from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to their time at Amazon, Laurel was a Summer Research Intern at Argonne National Laboratory from 2017 to 2018, where they designed and developed a flow battery system.
