Leah Kannan is a Computer Science graduate from the University of Maryland, with extensive experience in engineering and education roles. At Lockheed Martin, Kannan served as a Network Engineering Intern, while at Apple, a Data Engineering Intern position was held. Presently, Kannan works as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon and previously functioned as a Software Engineering Analyst at Accenture Federal Services. Kannan also contributed to academia as a Computer Science Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, supporting students in foundational programming concepts. Leadership skills were demonstrated as Director of Education for the Association for Women in Computing at UMD, organizing workshops for underrepresented groups in computing. Early experience includes a Counselor/Lifeguard role at Landon Summer Camp. Kannan’s research internships focused on PKI and DNA sequence prediction using innovative computational methods.
