Michael Cooley is currently the Director of Public Policy for Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia at Amazon, a position they have held since 2022. Previously, Michael served as the Director of Public Policy for Australia and New Zealand at Amazon since 2020, as well as a Public Policy and Government Relations Counsel at Google Australia from 2015 to 2020. Earlier in their career, Michael worked as a Senior Lawyer specializing in intellectual property at Gilbert + Tobin from 2011 to 2015, and held various advisory roles, including Senior Adviser in Governance at the Office of the Prime Minister of Australia. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with Honours from The Australian National University, completing their studies in 2000.
