Ning Xie

Ning Xie is a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon, focusing on building large language models. They earned a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Wright State University, where they researched explainable and reliable deep learning, computer vision, and the interaction between vision and natural languages. Ning’s academic work included developing deep neural network mechanisms for interpretability and proposing a novel task known as Visual Entailment. Prior to their current role, they held positions at NEC Laboratories America, Inc., and completed internships at Amazon. They also have a Bachelor’s degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Hebei University of Technology.
