Peter Chen

Peter Chen is an accomplished leader in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics, currently serving as the Director of Applied Science and Head of Frontier AI & Robotics at Amazon since September 2024. Previously, Peter co-founded Covariant, where significant advancements in robotics foundation models were achieved, raising over $350 million in capital and securing contracts worth over $100 million. With a background in research at UC Berkeley's EECS and experience as a research scientist at OpenAI, Peter has developed expertise in deep generative models and reinforcement learning. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Statistics and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in EECS at the University of California, Berkeley.
