Tomas Vicente is an experienced Applied Scientist currently working at Amazon in the Visual Search & AR team since May 2018. Prior to this role, Tomas served as a Research Assistant at Stony Brook University from June 2011 to January 2018, contributing to PhD research under the guidance of Professors Dimitris Samaras and others in the Image Analysis Lab. Tomas also completed a software development internship at A9.com during the summer of 2017, focused on the Visual Search team, and a research internship at Siemens related to Medical Imaging from May to September 2016. Tomas obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, after completing a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Rhode Island from January 2007 to January 2010.
